Bill Belichick and UNC football are coming to Hulu.

Announced on Sunday, Aug. 24 in a team meeting by Belichick, the Tar Heels and their six-time Super Bowl-winning coach will be featured in a documentary series this fall on Hulu. EverWonder Studio will produce the series.

‘This is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it and it’ll stream on Hulu later this fall,’ Belichick said in the announcement, which was posted by the Tar Heels’ social media team on X (formerly Twitter).

‘It’s going to feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do,’ Belichick continued of the Hulu series. ‘And a program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s gonna go during the course of the season, which, of course, will be determined on the field. It’ll show our commitment to winning, it’ll show our commitment to the team, and that’s our priority.’

The series has not been confirmed or announced by Hulu at the time of this writing. Belichick also noted that the documentary series will be ‘a season-long documentary.’

The Tar Heels previously were expected to be featured in a preseason version of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ series before they were cut from it. As noted by USA TODAY, the ‘Hard Knocks’ deal fell through after Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, reportedly wanted to be ‘heavily involved with the project.’

Belichick was hired by UNC on Dec. 11, 2024 as the successor to Mack Brown in Chapel Hill, marking the legendary football coach’s first foray into college football. The 73-year-old former New England Patriots coach was signed to a five-year, $50 million contract by the Tar Heels.

UNC is coming off a 6-7 season and did not receive a single vote in both the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll. The Tar Heels open their season on Monday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET against TCU.
